July 4th Was a Hot One,
Reports of a festive fourth are not exaggerated. All kinds of boaters were on the water
Well. I had fun and according to reports I’m getting from across the country so did a ton of other boaters. Starting in the east (where I am) fireworks displays went off as scheduled despite threats of rain from North Carolina to New Jersey. All along the Chesapeake Bay Boaters were out on the water enjoying the show. My own slip neighbors, hailing from South America, had a boatload of folks on their 38 Beneteau, taking in the show from just off shore.
African American boaters from clubs all over the region met in Baltimore for a day of partying, rain and fireworks. One 42 Carver aft cabin “Chillin” was nestled in between the 145 foot “Fighting Irish” and the yacht “Victory”, herself at more that 130 feet LOA. “Chillin” had the best seat in the house.
From the looks of things It was a hot one for the Texas BBA as well. The lake was packed with Independence Day revelers Check out the photos on their site.
The Inland Boater crew was out in force too, sporting new Inland Boater decals on their vessels. The decals will soon be available on this site so keep your eyes peeled.
If there are stories of the fourth you would like to share, send them to . We’ll post the best ones on the site and you’ll get one of those hot Inland Boater decals.
Keep those cards and letters coming!
