After saying that I would not post another message in these forums until the spammers were cleaned out I was also cleaned out.. All of my previous messages were removed and so was I. I had to re-register in order to post this message.. I’m not sure if it was a mistake or not when they deleted my account but at least I did get the forum spammers out of here.. Oh well I’m back and starting from message one. LOL

Salt,
It was a mistake. I hope we didn’t inadvertently delete anyone else in our quest to get rid of the spammers. We really appreciate your concern and willingness to push us to do our job.  Please feel free to alert us to any other annoying activity. If you know of anyone else who was deleted by mistake let us know. We’ll also make an announcement in our upcoming newsletter.

Thanks again!

Looks like there’s some breathing room in here. Though it is a little quiet.  Boating season is about to begin down here. Well, actually we’ve had a couple of days in the 90s already and people have been out on the Potomac River.  As for me, I got a lot of work to do because the winter killed me.  31 inches of snow on my canvas, bent the frame and ripped the canvas.  it was totaled. So Now I’m waiting for the canvas guy to build me a new tent cheese

Anyway, What’s going on out there?  Any one...Hellooooo!

Sorry to hear about your canvas BayBays Kid.. You guys on the lower east coast had it far worse then we did here in Michigan this last winter.. Everything on my boat survived but I never leave my canvas up over the winter so thats one thing I don’t have to worry about.. Anyway I worked the entire weekend to get Salt n Pepper ready for the water.. She’s now ready and she will be floating again this Thursday at 1:30 in the afternoon.  smile

I absolutely love launches. I usually leave my boat in over the winter and have it hauled in spring for no more than a week. This way I can get the waxing and bottom cleaning done. This year, though the winter was a pain, getting new canvas won’t feel bad at all.  We’re changing for the sand color we had to mediterranean blue. It has a vinyl backing that makes it easier to clean. Sunbrella makes it.  I’m stoked cuz the color matches the stripe in my seats and new canvas is like Christmas!

Is your insurance picking up some of the cost since it was damaged by the snow? A number of years back when I had a 25ft Larson we had a bad spring after I had put my canvas up and a freak winter storm blew in and destroyed it.. I turned it into my insurance and they replaced it minus a little bit for age deprecation

Yeah, definitely. My insurance is picking most of the cost.  There was a good deal of depreciatioi because of the age of the old canvas. But the good news is the new enclosure will be mad of Sea Mark.  It’s a combination of Sunbrella fabric backed by a Hartz MArine vinyl coating. It’s completely waterproof and I hear it’s incredible.

Sounds Good..  grin The only problem I have with a vinyl backing is the vinyl tends to shrink when it gets cool and it gets hard to put up on cool nights.. Not sure if this product will do the same thing but that has been my experiance with vinyl canvas.  Good Luck.  cool smile

Got the canvas done.  it looks great! I’ll post pix as soon as I take them. This weekend probably. Now all I have to do is get the boat hauled, washed and waxed. Bif project, but I’ve got the energy now that I’m no longer depressed about the canvas.  How’s things in Detroit?

It’s been nice here during the week and crappy on the weekends.. This weekend it looks like it may be ok though.. Our marina is haveing a chile cookoff this weekend which sounds like it’s going to be alot of fun.. You buy a bowl and a spoon for 10 bucks and you get to taste everyones chile.. All of the proceeds are going to a charity.  smile
