Well not really. We still had a week to go. But the Bay was showing signs of fall boating last weekend.  Fewer boats were out and that’s a great thing. Algae was dying off so the water had a bluer tinge to it than in the summer. Just Beautiful! Went for a cruise. A giant circle really, took about an hour. Are you guys finished boating in Michigan?

Lemme kno

Nope haven’t finished here in Michigan yet.. For most there is about a month to 2 months left before everyone is done.. For me I’m going to call it quits very soon.. I’m planning on pulling my boat the 2nd weekend in October. The season seemed so short this year because of all the bad weather we had at the beginning of the season. I new it was getting real close a couple of weeks ago when the Red Pop antifreeze went on sale. long face

I start to get a little sad as the end of the season rolls around. But Fall is really my favorite part of boating season. I don’t break into a sweat every time I board the boat or begin doing some work.  It gets so hot here. From late August through November, things are really manageable.  Not to mention the fact that the “in season” boaters are now off the water, leaving some real room to boat.

Well to tell you the truth this season has been kind of a downer for us because of everyting going on at the marina where we stay.. The good news is this season is just about over and when we put back in next season we will be heading to a new marina where hopefully the BS will end and the fun will resurface. I only hope with these new owners at our marina that we don’t have a problem when it comes time to relaunch our boat so that we can get out of there as quickly as possible. All I really want to do in the next couple of weeks is take our boat out for at least one more cruise and then start packing up all the crap I have in our dock box so that I leave nothing behind when we move out.

I hear you.  I remember earlier this year you were talking about the new ownership and the hope that things would turn out well. Looks like that didn’t happen. What happens to E-dock and friends as a result of the new owner? Will the group stay together? Or are more people moving out?

On another note.  I sent a couple of photos to the editor of IB and the photos got posted in the Editor’s blog. check it out. They’re calling for photos from everyone. Got any you want posted?

E Dock and Friends will survive because we are not based out of any one marina.. We have boaters and friends through out the Metro Detroit area and as far away as Cleveland, Ohio and Atlanta, Georgia.. So that won’t be a problem.  smile

Great article, thanks. Salt and BayBay, boat vcp exam was hauled 2 years ago for bottom paint. When she is hauled for paint or repairs I am at the yard to inspect hull vcp410 and running gear. bottom is power washed and left to dry for a day before paint coats are applied (2 coats 83-640 exam overall and 3 at waterline). I guess we have been lucky regarding the blisters. We usually run around the boat 70-270 exam with a small hammer tapping the hull listening for dead spots. The paints used seem to provide a good barrier and coupled with the cleaning schedule we have not had any negative events. I will probaly be pulling the boat sometime in 2010 so will have another chance to inspect. Thanks again, Bill
