Imperial is out of business so only the 1986-1989 are still around. But,If you’re looking for a cheap, really fishable, fast boat this is it. This was my first boat(got it in 2000 sold it in 2007) and I have seen some used ones still around for between 5 and 9 grand. It’s a 27 foot sport fisherman with twin mercruiser 170 outdrives.  Holds about 150 gallons of gas and is really sea worthy. Easy to maintain too.

It got me through some tough storms on the Chesapeake bay. It’s pretty fast.  Brand new it was supposed to do about 50mph but I only got it up to about 43 on my gps. Cruised at 30 easy. It’s small inside so only good for two to weekend on. It has a vee berth and an aft berth so it sleeps three comfortably or four if two are kids. an alcohol stove and only an Icebox on mine but some came with a fridge.

What I liked was the speed and the fuel consumption. I could go on short trips all season long and never filled up more than twice the whole season. Burned less that 15 gallons/hr at cruise and next to nothing just trolling around.

I hated the head. It was basically a porta potty in a room. It was plumbed for a pump out but the tank was too small. The head had a shower though.

The cockpit was huge so you could easily fish with four folks and gear or cruise easily with six.
In short a great boat to learn on or to bum around on a large lake or river.  it’s got the speed to get you out and back but be careful on big bodies of water with huge waves.
