Silverton prides itself on “continually evolving,” creating products that respond to the needs of its boat owners. The company has done it once again with the newest addition to its line of luxury yachts, the new 50 Convertible.

Cruising and fishing enthusiasts will be impressed when they see how Silverton has combined features typical of comparably sized sportfishers with the sleek motor yacht styling that has become Silverton’s trademark. Fish or party, party or fish? Both are entirely possible with the 50 Convertible, featuring luxury and practicality at its best.

Your experience begins when you climb molded steps to the flybridge—an easy, protected ascent—with no worries about bumping your head. At the helm, the captain and first-mate can relax on bucket seats with flip-up bolsters for added comfort when cruising. Abundant guest seating is forward the helm and carefully arranged to maximize conversation without compromising the captain’s sightlines.

Optional stratoglass curtains offer spectacular, expansive views from the bridge. Generous ventilation is provided by zippered vents near the top of the stratoglass side curtains and a center panel that flips up and fastens to the hardtop. An overhead hatch in the hardtop also adds ventilation. Too hot still? No problem- — an optional air conditioner helps you and your guests keep their cool and an optional refrigerator and freezer keep drinks cool. Also, grab rails positioned strategically throughout make moving about the bridge easy, even underway.

Silverton innovation continues below in the unbelievably huge cockpit where a wet bar, which can be equipped with an optional refrigerator and sink, make it easy to quench your thirst. Choose the optional cockpit grill and you’ll have everything you need, whether you’re entertaining guests or reeling in those big fish.

Inside, the full beam salon is spacious, luxurious and bathed in sunlight, with L-shaped seating to port and aft that can include an incliner in the configuration. Large, screened opening windows throughout the salon are dressed with Silhouette-type (fabric blinds between sheer panels) window shadings that afford just the right amount of privacy or light.

As part of a state-of-the-art entertainment center, a large, flat panel TV placed aft near the glass sliding door allows for viewing throughout the salon. Burl and cherry wood cocktail and side tables lend an air of refined elegance to the salon. The same wood is used for the large table that is part of the L-shaped dinette, placed starboard and opposite the portside galley.

The galley is a thing of beauty, with sleek cherry wood cabinetry, integrating appliances — such as SubZero’s refrigerated drawers and under-counter freezer — and a microwave/convection oven and coffeemaker.  Feel free to plan that extended cruise, because there is more than adequate storage in the galley. There are even rollout wire baskets which can be used for storage under a hatch that allows access below for mechanics. Corian solid surfacing covers all counter tops, including the 3-burner stove top, creating a continuous, smooth surface. The stainless steel double bowl sink, one large and the other small, adds to convenience in the galley.

A few steps down, the companionway leads to three staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom, amidships to port, has a queen-size, u-shaped island berth with an inner-spring mattress which is sure to lull you to sleep. Integrated table surfaces on both sides of the bed will hold all your decorative trinkets, while built-in drawers beneath the pedestal bed will hold all the clothing you’ll need for cruises, short and long.

Cherry wood paneling, covering most of the surfaces in this stateroom, lends a warm, cozy feel to the space and the fabric-covered headboard looks chic and sophisticated. A screened, opening porthole, covered with a Silhouette-type sheer panel adds light and ventilation. A large, mirrored wall also portside helps the space live large.  The ensuite master head is roomy with a separate, curved full-size shower. A flat screen TV completes this stateroom, making you feel right at home.

Guests will feel special bedding down in the forward VIP stateroom, which is also equipped with a queen-size, u-shaped island bed with an inner-spring mattress. This bed also rests on a cherry wood pedestal with storage drawers.  Cedar-lined hanging lockers can be found port and starboard and above, just beneath the headliner.  Guests can relax and watch the flat screen TV while lying in bed. A screened hatch overhead provides light and ventilation.

Don’t be shy about inviting your closest friends and family. There’s a third stateroom and to starboard is a berth with twin over/under bunks and a large storage locker. The twin berth and VIP stateroom share the day head. The separate shower in the day head has a folding glass door for easy access. The cherry wood vanity has a Corian countertop, with storage for toiletries below the sink and in a medicine cabinet above the sink. A screened porthole brightens the space.

Silverton has certainly raised the bar with its new 50 Convertible. It has all of the creature comforts and options necessary for comfortable cruising and fishing in grand style.
